    Setelah kemarin kita berbicara mengenai OSI-TCP-IP, maka postingan kali ini akan membahas Physical Layer.
Fungsi Utama Physical Layer
Fungsi utama dari Physical layer adalah untuk menciptakan elektrikal, optikal dan microwave signal yang mewakili bit disetiap frame.

Adapun Beberapa organisasi standarisasi beberapa perangkat terkait physical layer :
• The International Organization for Standarization (ISO)
• The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
• The American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
• The International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
• The Electronics Industry Alliance / Telecommunications Industry Association (EIA/TIA)

dan standarirasi physical layer yaitu :
Standar Physical Layer 
• Ada 4 (empat) teknologi yang dibahas pada  physical layer yaitu :
a) Physical and electrical properties of the media
b) Mechanical properties (materials, dimensions, pinouts) of the connectors
c) Bit representation by the signals (encoding)
d) Definition of control information signals
